Wingsuits, often referred to as “squirrel” or “birdman” suits, are specially designed skydiving suits that have large, inflatable and pressurized arm and leg wings that allow a skydiver to significantly increase lift and fly impressive horizontal distances.
Wingsuiting is an advanced skydiving discipline. Students and novice skydivers typically have not acquired the appropriate skill level and knowledge to participate in wingsuit flying. Therefore, a minimum of 200 skydives and a first wingsuit jump course is recommended before flying wingsuits.
Edmonton Skydive is proud to have Chris Kostcha as a full-time instructor. With more than 10,500 jumps, 100+ hours in the wind tunnel and ten years in the sport, Chris brings a tremendous amount of skill, experience, knowledge and general good vibes to the team.
For those that qualify with the minimum requirements, we will be hosting wingsuit first jump courses regularly. Check out upcoming events on our facebook page.
For current wingsuit pilots, Chris is at the dropzone full-time available for coaching and flocking jumps.
